چکیده

Millions of players play Massively Multiplayer Online Games (MMOG) daily. Because the cost and limited scalability of client/server architecture of today’s MMOG; Peerto-Peer (P2P) architectures become very popular in MMOG recently, many researches are conducted in this field. This paper presents a survey of recent advancements in P2P game regarding with its state management, overlay management and security.

P2P Network Trust Management Survey

Peer-to-peer applications (P2P) are no longer limited to home users, and start being accepted in academic and corporate environments. While file sharing and instant messaging applications are the most traditional examples, they are no longer the only ones benefiting from the potential advantages of P2P networks. For example, network file storage, data transmission, distributed computing, and co...

PartyPeer: a P2P based Massively Multiplayer Online Game

Using peer-to-Peer (P2P) architectures for large scale interactive applications such as Massively Multiplayer Online Games (MMOG) is very challenging because of the difficulties to maintain a consistent game world in a distributed topology and exchange game state information in the P2P network without a central sever. In this demo proposal we present the innovative design and implementation of ...

A game-theoretic approach for overcoming selfish routing in P2P networks

We introduce an evolution game based model to study the temporal behaviors of selfish nodes in P2P networks. So far, most of the analysis of selfish routing is concerned with static properties of equilibria which is one of the most fundamental paradigms in classical Game Theory. By adopting a generalized approach of evolutionary game theory, we extend the model of selfish routing to study the d...

A Game Theoretic Framework for Incentives in P2P Systems

Peer-To-Peer (P2P) networks are self-organizing, distributed systems, with no centralized authority or infrastructure. Because of the voluntary participation, the availability of resources in a P2P system can be highly variable and unpredictable. In this paper, we use ideas from Game Theory to study the interaction of strategic and rational peers, and propose a differential service-based incent...

A Novel Caching Strategy in Video-on-Demand (VoD) Peer-to-Peer (P2P) Networks Based on Complex Network Theory

The popularity of video-on-demand (VoD) streaming has grown dramatically over the World Wide Web. Most users in VoD P2P networks have to wait a long time in order to access their requesting videos. Therefore, reducing waiting time to access videos is the main challenge for VoD P2P networks. In this paper, we propose a novel algorithm for caching video based on peers' priority and video's popula...
